Quand "facilement" rencontre un numéral, ça parle d'approximation

International audienceModern French has a great diversity of markers of assessment (adverbs, prepositions, prepositional phrases...) among which figure the French adverb "facilement" ("On te donnerait facilement dix-huit ans" / "One would give you eighteen years easily"). The study undertaken on corpus made it possible to circumscribe this employment: (i) syntactically, "facilement", quantitative adverb, is intrapredicative component, its incidence relates to the quantified nominal group; (ii) semantically, the adverb directs the interpretation of the remainder of the utterance and its influence relates to the operation even of quantification: it announces a light going beyond of the reference given by the numeral; (iii) "facilement" its comment brings on a constant value (the numeral one) taken as term of reference and it translates the assessment attitude (the point of view) of the speaker and, more precisely, its increase with regard to what is known as. "Facilement" thus approaches the French modal adverbs ("évidemment", "apparemment"...) but is distinguished some by introducing the subjectivity which the evaluation constitutes on the alethic mode (the obvious, necessity, truth necessary values).Le français moderne dispose d'une grande diversité de marqueurs d'évaluation approximative (adverbes, prépositions, locutions prépositives...) parmi lesquels figure l'adverbe "facilement" ("On te donnerait facilement dix-huit ans"). L'étude menée sur corpus a permis de circonscrire cet emploi: (i) syntaxiquement, "facilement", adverbe quantitatif, est un constituant intraphrastique, son incidence porte sur le GN quantifié; (ii) sémantiquement, l'adverbe oriente l'interprétation du reste de l'énoncé et son influence porte sur l'opération même de quantification: il signale un léger dépassement de la référence donnée par le nombre; (iii) "facilement" apporte son commentaire sur une valeur constante (le numéral) prise comme terme de référence et il traduit l'attitude évaluative (le point de vue) du sujet parlant et, plus précisément, son renchérissement à l'égard de ce qui est dit. "Facilement" se rapproche donc des adverbes modaux ("évidemment", "apparemment"...), mais s'en distingue en introduisant la subjectivité que constitue l'évaluation sur le mode de l'aléthique (la valeur d'évidence, de nécessité, de vérité nécessaire)
